Bearcats Move on to College World Series Sunday, May 22nd , 2022 ABA College fans were certainly not disappointed with this Conference 2 Final 4. The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Cincinnati Bearcats prevailing over the TCU Horned Frogs to advance to the College World Series. Cincinnati won the final game by a score of 3-2 at Charlie and Marie Lupton Baseball Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field and that sealed the series 3-2. "Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said first baseman Ivan Diaz, who earned MVP honors. For the series, Diaz hit .368 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Cincinnati Bearcats will play against the Virginia Cavaliers in the next round. Virginia won their series against the Nebraska Cornhuskers 3 games to 1. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes. |
