Cavaliers Advance to College World Series Friday, May 20th , 2022 Alex Lee sparked his Virginia Cavaliers past the pesky Nebraska Cornhuskers in a closely-contested Final 4. Virginia topped Nebraska 4-0 at Hawks Field to decide the series, 3-1 For his efforts, Lee was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .538 batting average, 9 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "You never want to leave anything on the field," Lee said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win." The Virginia Cavaliers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the TCU Horned Frogs - Cincinnati Bearcats series. Cincinnati leads the series 2 games to 1. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes. |
