Sweet 16 Goes the Distance, Ohio State Prevails Monday, May 11th , 2020 The Ohio State Buckeyes and Florida State Seminoles held nothing back in an entertaining Sweet 16 that went the distance. In the end, it will be Ohio State advancing to the Elite 8, after a 5-2 triumph in the final game at Bill Davis Stadium, to wrap up the series 2-1. The Buckeyes players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Seminoles. Danny Bryson was named series MVP for Ohio State. For the series, Bryson hit .333 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Ohio State Buckeyes don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Penn State Nittany Lions - Stanford Cardinals series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
