Iowa State Sweeps into the Elite 8 Monday, May 11th , 2020 The Iowa State Cyclones looked strong and dominant in a series sweep against the UCF Knights. The Sweet 16 victory gives the club a great deal of momentum heading into the Elite 8. Iowa State won the final game by a 6-3 count and the series 2-0. Ray Sauer captured MVP honors on the strength of his 0.00 ERA over 4 innings pitched. He had a 0-0 record. "As long as we win, that's all that matters" he said of the honor. The Iowa State Cyclones don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cincinnati Bearcats - Arizona Wildcats series. Cincinnati leads the series 1 game to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
