5-Hit Blitz by Evans Tuesday, April 1st , 2025 A jubilant Graham Evans joined the postgame press conference at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Texas Tech Red Raiders pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Tennesse Volunteers first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 18-6 Volunteers win. "He made it look easy," said Orlando Valerio, manager of the Red Raiders. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Graham Evans singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ben Bagwell in the 8th and singled in the 9th. On the year, Evans has hit .367 with 1 home run, 2 RBIs and scored 4 runs. |
