Berg on Fire: Burns North Carolina with 3 HR Tuesday, April 1st , 2025 Nate Berg of the Yellow Jackets won the battle against North Carolina pitching, but lost the war. He hit three out of the park at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium, got his name in the league record book, but Georgia Tech came up short in the win column, losing to the Tar Heels, 9-7. The Georgia Tech center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long. "I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats." For the game, the 21-year old center fielder Berg went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Berg said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss." Nate Berg flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Augustine in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Kyle Burks in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bob Tillman in the 9th.
