Wassink Bashes 5 Base Hits
Friday, April 30th , 2021
Chris Wassink was at the head of a Missouri hit parade at Taylor Stadium. The third baseman went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Tigers to a nice 15-6 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Wassink told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Sooners skipper Trent Koepp said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Chris Wassink doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Eric Kelly in the 7th.
Currently Wassink is batting .386 with 9 home runs and 21 RBIs.
