Adams Socks It to Tar Heels, Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, April 29th , 2021 No matter what the North Carolina Tar Heels threw at him, Jim Adams hit it. He easily handled Tar Heels pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Golden Bears triumph, 10-7, at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Adams's quip, Tar Heels skipper Eric Broad said he "would take him up on that next time." Jim Adams singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pat Estes in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, reached via catchers interference in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Adams has compiled a .306 batting average and a .402 on-base percentage, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 29 runs. |
