Hockman on Fire: 5-for-6 for Kentucky
Sunday, March 23rd , 2025
A jubilant Bobby Hockman joined the postgame press conference at Kentucky Proud Park to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the TCU Horned Frogs pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Kentucky Wildcats first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 7-6 Wildcats win.
"He made it look easy," said Mike White, manager of the Horned Frogs. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Bobby Hockman singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
This season in 6 games, Hockman has hit at a .429 clip with 9 hits, no home runs, 1 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
