Kurtz Whacks 3 Out of the Park for Iowa State Saturday, March 22nd , 2025 Iowa State Cyclones right fielder Noah Kurtz sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Auburn Tigers, Kurtz told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Kurtz pushed the Cyclones past the Tigers, 17-16. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Kurtz told reporters after the game. Noah Kurtz struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Flores in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Matt Koperski in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. Kurtz is currently batting .245 with 5 home runs, 10 runs scored and 14 RBIs. His OBP is .362. |
