Pierce 5-for-5 Against Iowa State
Saturday, April 20th , 2019
After a 5-hit effort to lead Kentucky's 13-7 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones, second baseman Ken Pierce told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the ABA College-level is really something special."

The 19-year-old player earned his accolades today at Cap Timm Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Cyclones.

"His swing is getting there," said Wildcats skipper Javier Acevedo, who spoke glowingly of Pierce after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ken did that to perfection today."

Ken Pierce hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Pierce is currently batting .292 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 96 at-bats.
