Childers Slams 3 Deep for Vanderbilt Wednesday, April 25th , 2018 Scott Childers showed off his power today as he launched three balls into the seats against the Auburn Tigers and sparked the Commodores to a 10-5 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at Charles Hawkins Field." For the day, Childers collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," Vanderbilt skipper Juan Pizana said. "Scott really put on a show." Scott Childers hit a solo-shot off D.J. Andress in the 2nd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Max Ward in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Greg Lua in the 8th. For the season Childers has hit .264 with 6 home runs and 13 RBIs. He has played in 27 games and scored 11 times. |
