Wheat Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Monday, May 2nd , 2022 Randy Wheat, left fielder for the Georgia Bulldogs, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 9-8 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Randy Wheat flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. Posting a .365 batting average to date, Wheat has 13 home runs and 41 RBIs. |
