Wheat Jacks 3 into the Stands Sunday, May 1st , 2022 Whatever Randy Wheat ate for breakfast before his game against the Iowa State Cyclones, it gave him some impressive power. The Georgia left fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Foley Field. His home run barrage helped the Bulldogs defeat the Cyclones, 14-9. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 7 and put on a display that history will remember. Randy Wheat hit a two-run home run off David Aronova in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off David Aronova in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ian Fox in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. This season, Wheat has hit at a .370 clip and produced 40 runs batted in, 13 home runs and 29 runs. |
