SL1 Best Hitter Trophy Goes to Velasquez Sunday, May 1st , 2022 Virginia Tech Hokies fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in April. Danny Velasquez put up a remarkable month at the age of 18 and has been named the Conference 1 Batter of the Month. For the month, Velasquez hit .451 with 11 home runs, 24 RBIs and 25 runs scored. This season, Velasquez has banged out 70 hits in 172 at-bats for a .407 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .482 pace and his totals also include 36 RBIs and 40 runs scored. |
