Ole Miss Snaps McCarson Streak at 26 Tuesday, March 19th , 2024 South Carolina right fielder Ed McCarson experienced something against the Ole Miss Rebels he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Rebels pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 26 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Gamecocks to a 3-2 victory at Founders Park. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 26-game hitting streak," McCarson joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." So far this season, McCarson has recorded a .375 batting average with 12 hits, 4 home runs, 7 RBIs, 7 runs scored and a .545 OBP. |
