Williams Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games Friday, April 29th , 2022 With 3 hits at Alexander Field, Aaron Williams added another game to his hitting streak -- the Purdue first baseman has now hit safely for 25 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Boilermakers, as they fell, 7-5, to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Minnesota manager Josh Shaw said later. "I'll let him get 6 hits in 6 at-bats if it means we get a win." Aaron Williams flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Paul Hardin in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 11th. Thus far this year, Williams is hitting .370 with 11 home runs, 32 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
