Great Stroke: Tornquist Gets 5 Hits Monday, April 25th , 2022 5 times is the charm -- at least for Josh Tornquist. The Arizona State Sun Devils right fielder tore up the Texas Tech Red Raiders to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. The offensive onslaught from Tornquist powered the 9-8 Sun Devils win. "Tornquist was a tough out," Texas Tech manager Jeremy Kelley said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Josh Tornquist hit a solo-shot off Sean Foye in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Bill Hart in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. So far this year, Tornquist has hit .280 with 4 home runs, 18 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
