Aaron Carr Wallops 3 Homers for Fighting Irish Sunday, April 24th , 2022 Aaron Carr went on an explosive hitting spree against the Purdue Boilermakers at Alexander Field, launching a trio of blasts to help the Notre Dame Fighting Irish win, 13-1. The third baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 9 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Carr said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Purdue skipper Joey Manier said Carr was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Aaron Carr hit a three-run home run off Jon Gunter in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Ken Martinez in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Josh Collins in the 8th. Looking at his present stats, Carr has compiled a .284 batting average in 35 games with a .388 on-base percentage, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 43 runs. |
