Ailstock Belts 3 HR Against Virginia Monday, March 30th , 2026 It was a terrific day for Jim Ailstock, who ripped three home runs at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium, and a disappointing one for the North Carolina Tar Heels who, nevertheless, dropped the game, 10-6, to the Virginia Cavaliers. "He was instant offense," North Carolina skipper Josh Adams said. "Jim really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn't come through with hits at the right time to win the game." For the day, Ailstock collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBIs. In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he said. Jim Ailstock flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Travis Troy in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Miles Miner in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Matt Austin in the 8th. For the year, Ailstock has hit at a .238 clip with 13 RBIs, 7 home runs and 10 runs scored. |
