Lewis Gets 5 Hits Monday, April 18th , 2022 Tom Lewis exploded for a barrage of base hits at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vanderbilt first baseman had a field day in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Tennesse Volunteers, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Lewis must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Tom Lewis singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. On the year, Lewis is hitting .323 with 31 hits, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs, .387 OBP and has scored 13 runs. |
