Big Day for Boron: Swats 5 Hits
Thursday, March 26th , 2026
Even as a kid, Vic Boron said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Illinois Field, Boron showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 20-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Michigan State Spartans, helping his team knock off the Illinois Fighting Illini by a score of 13-6.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Vic Boron singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jason Larson in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
This year, Boron is hitting .355 with 4 home runs and 11 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .394 clip and scored 12 runs.
