League Suspends Illinois's Davis
Sunday, March 26th , 2023
Adam Davis, third baseman for the Illinois Fighting Illini, will be getting a few days off the hard way -- a 2-game suspension for aggressively arguing with an umpire in a recent game with Penn State.
After being called out on strikes, Davis stood toe-to-toe with the home plate umpire and hotly contested the call. Apparently he got too close to the arbiter and was ejected from the game, allegedly making contact with the bill of his cap.
"I don't remember billing him. I don't remember doing that," Davis told BNN today.
This season, Davis is batting .211 with 12 hits, 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, .297 OBP and has scored 10 runs.
