Morgan Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Hawkeyes Thursday, March 23rd , 2023 Fans are still buzzing after Michigan State whipped the Iowa Hawkeyes by the score of 12-9 at Drayton McLane Baseball Stadium at John H. Kobs Field. Justin Morgan smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the second baseman bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 7 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Morgan said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Morgan said. "Three is just... wow." Justin Morgan hit a solo-shot off Donovan McNally in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Donovan McNally in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Justin Urban in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Morgan is hitting .400 this year with 8 home runs and 20 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .524, 13 walks and scored 15 times. |
