Cornhuskers Pitching Ravaged by Edwards Thursday, March 23rd , 2023 It was a parade of hits for Jason Edwards of the Duke Blue Devils at Hawks Field. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Edwards finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 7 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Blue Devils to a win, 19-13. "Edwards was really good and we were really bad," groaned Cornhuskers manager Jamie Morrell. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Jason Edwards singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this year, Edwards has hit .250 with 1 home run and 4 RBIs. |
