5-for-5 Day for Ciervo Wednesday, March 22nd , 2023 Jeff Ciervo did a number on the Horned Frogs in the 14-4 Arizona State victory -- and the number was 5. The Sun Devils third baseman banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Phoenix Municipal Stadium to lead his club past the TCU Horned Frogs. "I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Jeff Ciervo singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Joe Marrow in the 7th. This season, Ciervo is swinging the bat at a .348 rate with 16 hits in 46 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 10 runs and driven in 11. |
