Hidalgo Raps 3 HR Against Bulldogs Wednesday, April 13th , 2022 Auburn Tigers shortstop David Hidalgo sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Georgia Bulldogs, Hidalgo told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Hidalgo pushed the Tigers past the Bulldogs, 11-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Hidalgo told reporters after the game. David Hidalgo grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Justin Murphy in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Justin Murphy in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Greg Gregor in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. This year, Hidalgo is hitting .310, produced 45 RBIs and 17 home runs, scored 38 times and gotten on base at a .463 rate. |
