Houston's Fleck Goes Ballistic with 6 Hits Tuesday, April 12th , 2022 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Mike Fleck of the Houston Cougars had one of those moments when he went 6-for-6 at the plate in his team's 12-4 win over the Georgia Bulldogs at Foley Field. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 18-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Mike Fleck singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off David Valdez in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Fleck is hitting .339 for the season with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 37 hits in 109 at-bats and played in 29 games. |
