Great Stroke: Hydo Gets 5 Hits Tuesday, April 12th , 2022 Mike Hydo of the California Golden Bears went on a hitting spree against the Virginia Tech Hokies pitching staff, racking up 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but to no avail -- the Hokies put a damper on his day and prevailed, 9-8, over the Golden Bears. "It was a heck of a day and I was kind of looking forward to a better ending than that," he said later. Mike Hydo singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Henderson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Waterfall in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
