Super Swinger -- Bacon Slams 5 Hits Monday, April 11th , 2022 It was a parade of hits for Joe Bacon of the Florida State Seminoles at Alexander Field. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Bacon finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Seminoles to a win, 18-7. "Bacon was really good and we were really bad," groaned Boilermakers manager Joey Manier. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Joe Bacon hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Bacon is batting .311 this year with 5 home runs, 19 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 37 hits in 119 at-bats. |
