Lucia Blasts 3 out of the Park Thursday, April 9th , 2020 Sometimes it just isn't enough. John Lucia had an outstanding day at UC Baseball Stadium for the Cincinnati Bearcats today, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Bearcats fell to the UCF Knights, 8-6. Lucia had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 20-year-old shortstop banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 4 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Bearcats were not able to hold off the Knights. "Baseball is a funny game," Lucia said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." John Lucia hit a two-run home run off Scott Reynolds in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Scott Reynolds in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Tom Claar in the 8th. In his season totals Lucia has 7 home runs and a .372 batting average. |
