Spurrell's Season Could be Over
Friday, April 1st , 2022
Wisconsin starting pitcher Dave Spurrell could miss the remainder of the season because of a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's California game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Spurrell would be out 11 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
To date this season, Spurrell is 2-0 with 5 starts and an ERA of 1.29 with 14 strikeouts in 21 innings.
