Billings on Fire: 5-for-6 for Georgia Tech
Sunday, April 4th , 2021
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. John Billings of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate in his team's 15-4 win over the Wisconsin Badgers at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 18-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
John Billings hit a solo-shot off Johnny Levens in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
For the year, Billings is hitting .330 with 3 home runs. His stats include 9 RBI and 12 runs scored.
