Newingham Sizzles -- Smokes Sooners for 5 Hits Saturday, March 11th , 2023 It was a parade of hits for Jeff Newingham of the Texas A&M Aggies at L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Newingham finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Aggies to a win, 13-3. "Newingham was really good and we were really bad," groaned Sooners manager Trent Koepp. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Jeff Newingham walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Milt Helvey in the 9th. |
