Four-bagger Feast: Parent Slugs 3 for Kansas Saturday, March 11th , 2023 It was a good day for the Kansas Jayhawks and an exceptional one for Bob Parent. The 18-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Jayhawks beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 12-11, at Hoglund Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Parent said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Bob Parent hit a solo-shot off Bobby Confer in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Bobby Confer in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Matt Weaver in the 8th. |
