5-Hit Blitz by LSU's Michael Friday, March 26th , 2021 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Tim Michael, it came around today. The 20-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park to pace the 18-13 LSU Tigers victory over the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma skipper Trent Koepp told reporters in the press room that "Michael deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Michael hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Tim Michael doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. This season, Michael is hitting at a .403 pace with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and has scored 10 times. |
