Hot Bat Cooled, Scharn Hitless Against Tigers
Sunday, March 31st , 2019
The streak has been snapped.

Mike Scharn failed to get a hit in today's game against the Clemson Tigers, bringing his 21-game hitting spree to an end. The 19-year-old California first baseman was 0-for-5, but the Golden bears got the win and defeated the Tigers 10-8.

"I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Scharn said. "I got to 21 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?"

In 21 games this season Scharn has compiled a .364 batting average with 32 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 13 times and knocked in 12 runs.
