Cox Sizzles -- Smokes Commodores for 5 Hits
Thursday, March 18th , 2021
The Alabama Crimson Tide stopped the Vanderbilt Commodores by a score of 8-3 at Charles Hawkins Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Adam Cox. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Cox said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Cox did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Commodores.
"Not much that I can say," offered Vanderbilt manager Jorge Nieves. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Adam Cox doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
Currently Cox is batting .476 with 20 hits and no home runs. He has knocked in 3 runs and scored 10 times.
