Johnson Belts 3 HR for Ducks Wednesday, March 17th , 2021 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Dedeaux Field were taking cover all day long as Mike Johnson zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the Oregon left fielder helped the Ducks take the victory, 8-3, over the USC Trojans. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 3 and scored 3 runs. Mike Johnson walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Manuel Cristerna in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tom Mace in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off John Burkitt in the 9th. So far this season, Johnson has put up a .452 batting average with 14 hits, 5 home runs and 8 RBIs. |
