Laster Belts 3 HR Against BYU Wednesday, March 27th , 2019 Josh Laster of the Tigers won the battle against BYU pitching, but lost the war. He hit three out of the park at Samford Stadium – Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park, got his name in the league record book, but Auburn came up short in the win column, losing to the Cougars 14-11. The Auburn shortstop was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long. "I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats." For the game he went 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Laster said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss." Josh Laster hit a solo-shot off Greg Alich in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Greg Alich in the 4th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Adam Roberts in the 9th.
