Way Batters Arizona State for 5 Hits
Thursday, March 14th , 2019
Jake Way knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Charlie and Marie Lupton Baseball Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field today, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 21-year-old left fielder hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his TCU Horned Frogs fell, 6-2, to the Arizona State Sun Devils.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Sun Devils manager Juan Fernandez told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Way wasn't the difference."

Jake Way hit a two-run home run off Josh Gomez in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.

In 5 games this season Way has batted at a .455 pace with 10 hits and 2 home runs.
