Hits Galore: Reed Drills 5 Hits
Wednesday, March 30th , 2022
There was no storybook ending. Donall Reed of the Oklahoma State Cowboys socked it to the visiting Oklahoma Sooners with a terrific 5-hit game, but his team didn't get the win. The Cowboys fell, 11-7, at O'Brate Stadium.
"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Reed complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too."
He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Oklahoma State manager Matt Howard sympathized with his first baseman, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Donall played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough."
Donall Reed hit a solo-shot off Josh Few in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 8th, doubled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
Looking at his present stats, Reed has compiled a .393 batting average in 17 games with a .456 on-base percentage, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 12 runs.
