Red-Hot Hunt Scorches Tigers Tuesday, March 29th , 2022 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for John Hunt -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Drayton McLane Baseball Stadium at John H. Kobs Field and paced the 22-3 Spartans win over the Clemson Tigers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Michigan State shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. John Hunt doubled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Nick Rambow in the 8th. Hunt is batting .474 with 5 home runs and 16 RBIs this season. |
