The Volunteers center fielder banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Founders Park to lead his club past the South Carolina Gamecocks. "I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." John Carter singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
