Gamecocks McCarson Smacks 5 Hits Monday, March 14th , 2022 South Carolina Gamecocks center fielder Ed McCarson banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 14-9. He went 5-for-6 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat McCarson said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Ed McCarson doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season, McCarson is hitting .478 with 11 hits, 2 home runs, 10 RBIs, scored 7 runs and played in 5 games. |
