Alabama Takes Final 4
Monday, May 20th , 2024
The championship aspirations of the Alabama Crimson Tide are still alive and well, while the Kansas State Wildcats are left to wait until next year.
Alabama won the clinching game of the Final 4 5-0 over Kansas State at Frank Myers Field at Tointon Family Stadium, to win the series 3-1.
"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said first baseman Jerry Perez, who paced the Alabama offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."
Perez claimed the MVP by racking up 7 hits for a .389 average, with a .450 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will play against the Michigan State Spartans in the next round. Michigan State won their series against the Michigan Wolverines 3 games to 1. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes.
