Kuehnel Takes Top SL1 Manager Honors Wednesday, June 10th , 2026 The Michigan State Spartans called a press conference to announce that field manager Ben Kuehnel had been named Conference 1 Manager of the Year earlier in the day. Staffers congratulated the 59-year-old baseball guru as he approached the podium. "This city has allowed me to craft a winning ball club," said Kuehnel. "When you take on a new job, there's always some adjustment period, but everyone here has been cooperative. From the bat boys on up. Here's to many more successful seasons for the Michigan State Spartans!" Kuehnel led Michigan State to a 35-15 record this year and a first place finish in the Conference 1 Big Ten. |
