His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 18-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Conference 2 Reliever of the Year Award for 2026.
The Memphis, Tennessee native won the award with 1 save in 23 relief appearances, 18 strikeouts in 31 innings and a record of 1-0 to go with his 0.29 ERA.
He received 24 first place votes out of a possible 56. Colt Brisard of the Missouri Tigers finished second in voting with 20 first place votes, while Danny Cook of the Texas Longhorns finished third with 4 first place votes.
