Weaks Grabs SL1 Reliever of the Year Award

At the young age of only 19, Matt Weaks has been named the Conference 1 Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2026.

The future appears bright for the Nebraska Cornhuskers relief ace, who captured the award with 12 saves in 22 relief appearances, 40 strikeouts in 31.2 innings and a record of 4-1 to go with his 0.28 ERA.

He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 56. Dennis Abbott of the Michigan Wolverines finished second in voting with 14 first place votes, while Jon Popp of the North Carolina Tar Heels finished third with 13 first place votes.
