Virginia Eliminated from Playoff Contention Tuesday, May 7th , 2024 The Virginia Cavaliers were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. Brad Murphy of the Cavaliers said it's a tough way to finish out the season. "To be eliminated from playoff contention in the last few games, it's not easy," he said. Virginia last appeared in the postseason in 2022. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 9 times in their 24-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Cavaliers have only missed the playoffs once. Virginia has won the College World Series 2 times in their history. |
